National Hurricane Center monitoring disturbance in Gulf of Mexico
EXCLUSIVE LIVE RADAR TRACKING STORMS SO YOU’LL KNOW. FIRST, THIS IS WVTM 13 WEATHER. NO STORMS TO TRACK TODAY. ANOTHER FANTASTIC START TO OUR MORNING LOOKING NORTH TOWARD DOWNTOWN BIRMINGHAM, BLUE SKIES, A FEW FAIR WEATHER CUMULUS CLOUDS OUT THERE. AND OVERALL, JUST A REALLY NICE BEGINNING TO OUR THURSDAY. 82 DEGREES RIGHT NOW IN BIRMINGHAM. 80 GUEST AND 81 ANNISTON 83 DEGREES IN CLANTON AND IN TUSCALOOSA. SO THOSE TEMPERATURES, THEY’RE STARTING TO RISE, BUT THE LOWER HUMIDITY STILL WITH US. SO IT’S FEELING MORE COMFORTABLE PERHAPS THAN THESE NUMBERS MAY OTHERWISE INDICATE. MANY SPOTS WILL AVOID 90 DEGREES THIS AFTERNOON. A FEW LOCATIONS MAY HIT IT, 88. THE HIGH TEMPERATURE IS WHAT WE’RE GOING WITH FOR BIRMINGHAM. STILL LOWER HUMIDITY IN THAT FORECAST THROUGH THE AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING. ANOTHER FANTASTIC NIGHT IF YOU WANT TO SPEND A LITTLE TIME OUTDOORS AFTER THE SUN DOES GO DOWN, TEMPERATURES WILL FALL THROUGH THE 70S AND DOWN INTO THE 60S. BUT THE HUMIDITY, IT’S RETURNING AS WE GO THROUGH THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. TAKE A LOOK AT THESE HIGH TEMPERATURES. AGAIN, UPPER 80S TODAY, 93. TOMORROW, WE’RE WELL UP INTO THE 90S, MIDDLE 90S, MAYBE SOME UPPER 90S COMING OUR WAY AS WE BEGIN NEXT WEEK. SO THE HOTTER WEATHER THE AUGUST WEATHER IT’S GOING TO RETURN. WE’RE WATCHING THE TROPICS CLOSELY THINGS STARTING TO GET A LITTLE MORE ACTIVE TO TROPICAL WAVES WAY OUT IN THE ATLANTIC THAT HAVE DECENT SHOTS OF DEVELOPMENT. ALSO WATCHING A TROPICAL WAVE THAT WILL MOVE INTO THE WESTERN GULF OF MEXICO COULD DEVELOP AS IT MOVES TOWARD TEXAS. AS OF RIGHT NOW, NONE OF THESE THREE SYSTEMS LOOK TO IMPACT ALABAMA. SO HOPEFULLY WE’LL KEEP THINGS QUIET. WE’LL SEE HOW THINGS PLAY OUT OVER THE COMING WEEKS. WE’RE STARTING TO SEE SOME CLOUDS DEVELOP OUT THERE THIS MIDDAY. AGAIN, THOUGH, THOSE CLOUDS NOT TURNING INTO ANY RAIN OR THUNDERSTORMS. IN FACT, OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS, THANKS TO A BIG RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE THAT WILL BE LOCKED IN ON TOP OF US, IT’S GOING TO BE HARD TO GET ANY RAIN GOING HERE ACROSS CENTRAL ALABAMA. SOME RAIN DOWN ACROSS THE FLORIDA PENINSULA, BUT AGAIN, FOR US, NOT MUCH IN THE FORECAST OVER THE NEXT 5 TO 7 DAYS. THOSE TEMPERATURES, THOUGH, THEY’LL BEGIN TO HEAT UP AS THAT RIDGE STRENGTHENS IN ON TOP OF US. SO FROM 89 TODAY TO 93 ON FRIDAY, LOOK AT THE WEEKEND WE’RE WELL UP INTO THE 90S. THAT HUMIDITY ALSO STARTING TO INCREASE SO FEELING A WHOLE LOT MORE UNCOMFORTABLE IN THE AFTERNOONS THIS WEEKEND. EVEN THOSE NIGHTTIME LOWS COMING UP QUITE A BIT. UPPER 90S FOR HIGH TEMPERATURES MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, SOME AREAS MAY M
