New Italian restaurant caffé opening in Homewood, Spring 2025

Marano Foods, an Alabama-based distributor of Italian sauces, is bringing its award-winning products (and more!) to The Edge in Homewood in Spring 2025. Dubbed Marano’s d’asporto, the new culinary destination will include a unique Italian market and to-go restaurant caffé.

New Italian Takeaway, Market & Caffé coming to Homewood

Started by James Marano and based on his Italian heritage, Marano’s is an Alabama-based creator and distributor of hand-made sauces, pastas and more.

The business’ new concept, Marano’s d’asporto, aims to bring “the fast-casual convenience of Italy’s delicious food culture to the community.”

“We are thrilled to bring a little taste of Italy to the Homewood community. At Marano’s d’asporto, our mission is to deliver authentic Italian flavors while fostering a warm and inviting environment where guests can shop, dine, and enjoy the essence of Italian culture.” 

Marano’s d’asporto—which means “to takeaway” in Italian—will feature a curated selection of artisanal Italian takeout and delivery options, such as:

• Savory frittatas
• Strombolis and oven-bakes
• Artfully crafted dishes
• Decadent desserts
• Exquisite Italian specialties and more.

Marano’s d’asporto aims to open this spring in the last remaining space at The Edge, a family-friendly mixed-use development in Homewood. The new business will include a traditional store-front as well as a rear entrance accessible from the green space inside The Edge.
