If you are an automobile collector enthusiast, then you should be looking forward to late September and early October when collector car auctions in New Orleans and Biloxi – 90 miles away from each other across the Gulf Coast – will take place over two consecutive weekends.

On Sept. 28-30, the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center will host Barrett-Jackson’s Inaugural New Orleans Auction, while on Oct. 4-7, the Mississippi Coliseum & Convention Center will host the 26th Annual Vicari Collector Car Auction during the annual Cruisin’ the Coast.

Established in 1971, Barrett-Jackson is a leader in collector car auctions and automotive lifestyle events, producing auctions in major U.S. cities such as Palm Beach, Fla.; Las Vegas, Nev.; and its headquarters home of Scottsdale, Ariz. With broadcast partner A+E Networks, Barrett-Jackson features live television coverage of their events on FYI and The HISTORY Channel.

The company chose New Orleans for its first ever collector car auction in Louisiana. The auction will feature a diverse docket of collectible vehicles, such as the 1922 Ford Model T depot hack, 1939 Packard 120 4-door convertible, 1963 Chevrolet Corvette, 2007 Bentley Flying Spur, 2020 Lamborghini Huracan,  2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV, among others.

There will be a live auction, VIP hospitality, a vast exhibitor marketplace, and laps and rides with leading automotive manufacturers, such as Dodge and Toyota.

“The city of New Orleans is a perfect location for a Barrett-Jackson auction, and I’m thrilled to bring our automotive lifestyle events to the Crescent City in September,” said Craig Jackson, Chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “Barrett-Jackson is all about creating the highest level of excitement around the collector car hobby and bringing it to multiple generations of guests, both current and future automotive enthusiasts. The city of New Orleans is a destination that embodies the same level of excitement and will elevate our events particularly for the tens of thousands of guests that will travel to the great state of Louisiana from around the world.”

Tickets start at $25. VIP Experience packages for the inaugural New Orleans Auction are available here. Advance tickets and hotel package information for the event can be found here. Featured vehicles will include “The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is a leading event destination for visitors from across the world and we are delighted to welcome the iconic Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction to New Orleans this fall for the very first time,” said Convention Center President Michael J. Sawaya. “For more than 50 years, this event has brought together millions of devoted automotive enthusiasts, and I’m certain their energy and excitement will be well suited for the lively, fun-loving culture we cultivate here in the Crescent City.”

Collector cars such as the 1953 Buick Skylark convertible and a rare numbers-matching 1966 Chevrolet Impala station wagon will be among those auctioned off at the 26th Annual Vicari Collector Car Auction at the Mississippi Coliseum & Convention Center.

There will be nearly 600 collector cars, custom convertibles, and modern-day muscle cars, along with more than 700 celebrity signed and memorabilia items during the four-day auction, which is the jewel event of Cruisin’ The Coast.

Commissioned by General Motors’ styling chief, Harvey Earle, the 1953 Buick Skylark convertible is one of only 1,690 Skylark’s produced during the 1953 model year. Finished in factory majestic white paint with a luxurious fine grain black and white pleated leather interior, its black folding soft top stows neatly behind the rear seat. It is equipped with a “Nail Head” overhead valve, 322 cubic inch V-8 engine that puts out 188 horsepower through a Dynaflow automatic transmission. The 1966 Chevrolet Impala station wagon – with a 427 cubic inch V-8 engine and factory 4-speed transmission that underwent a complete frame-off restoration – comes with the original Protect-O-Plate, brochure with color chart, and the original Chevrolet catalog.

Tickets start at $20. More information can be found here. Interested consignors may contact 504-264-2277 or [email protected]
