Trussville Entertainment District patrons will now be allowed to carry open containers though a new ordinance passed by the Trussville City Council. Trussville Police Department officials said people will now be able to carry open containers from businesses within the Trussville Entertainment District to the pavilion area. There will be signs posted and markings on the ground to outline the designated entertainment district area. According to the ordinance, businesses will be responsible for giving patrons clear cups and a receipt for proof of purchase. TPD officials said even though patrons are able to carry open containers outside, the ordinance does not allow for patrons to enter another business with their open container that is different from where they got it. The Trussville Entertainment District operating hours are Sunday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
