Patient being transported in ambulance killed in Talladega County crash

A woman from Lincoln was killed while inside an ambulance when it crashed in Talladega County.The Alabama State Troopers reported Dana Foster, 74, was a patient being transported when the ambulance collided head-on with a tractor-trailer truck.The wreck happened about 5:20 p.m. May 16 on Alabama Highway 21, about five miles north of Sylacauga.After the initial impact, the ambulance then struck two other vehicles on the roadway.The state troopers stated both workers in the ambulance were injured, in addition to the drivers in the other two vehicles.There was no information provided about the tractor-trailer truck driver.Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
