THE BIRMINGHAM BEARS TAKING ON THE ROCKET CITY TRASH PANDAS THERE AT REGIONS FIELD. YOU SEE SOME CLOUDS, HIGH LEVEL CLOUDS COMING IN FROM THE SOUTH AND WEST. BUT PLENTY OF SUNSHINE OUT THERE THAT WILL TAKE US RIGHT UP TO SUNSET, WHICH IS AROUND 715 THIS EVENING. THE COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH EARLIER THIS MORNING. BEHIND THAT FRONT, A GUSTY WEST AND NORTHWEST WIND CONTINUES HERE THIS EVENING. RIGHT NOW, WHERE GUSTING TO 26 MILES AN HOUR IN BIRMINGHAM, UP TO 33 MILE AN HOUR WIND GUSTS IN FAR NORTH WEST ALABAMA. THERE MUSCLE. WE’RE UP NEAR 70 IN BIRMINGHAM, ALABASTER, 69 GETS IN 69, 71 DEGREES IN CLAYTON. IT’S GOING TO TURN CHILLY TONIGHT. PRETTY QUICKLY AS THAT SUN GOES DOWN, TEMPERATURES DROP OFF QUICKLY THROUGH THE EVENING, OVERNIGHT HOURS AND FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING, WE’RE ALL DOWN INTO THE FORTIES. 43 GADSDEN IN COLEMAN, YOU’RE 46 AND BIRMINGHAM, 43 DEGREES IN TUSCALOOSA, BUT IT WON’T TAKE LONG FOR THE WARMER WEATHER TO RETURN. WE’RE BACK INTO THE LOW SEVENTIES FOR HIGHS MONDAY AFTERNOON. LOOK AT TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, HIGH TEMPERATURES WELL UP INTO THE EIGHTIES, RUNNING ABOUT 7 TO 10 DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE FOR THIS POINT IN APRIL. RAIN CHANCES, THEY’RE GOING TO BE OUT OF THE PICTURE, ARE GOING TO ENJOY A NICE QUIET STRETCH OF WEATHER THROUGH THURSDAY. HOWEVER, RAIN CHANCES DO COME BACK IN LATE WEEK FRIDAY AND LIKELY INTO SATURDAY AS WELL AS WE TRACK OUR NEXT SYSTEM APPROACHING FROM THE WEST. BIG AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE PROTECTING US FOR THE TIME BEING. BUT EVENTUALLY THAT BREAKS DOWN SOME AS OUR NEXT COLD FRONT COMES IN. IT’S GOING TO BRING IN THOSE SHOWER AND STORM CHANCES STARTING AS EARLY AS FRIDAY, POSSIBLY LASTING INTO THE FIRST HALF OF THE WEEKEND AS WELL. AND BEHIND THIS FRONT DOES LOOK LIKE WE’LL TURN CHILLY AGAIN FOR THE SECOND HALF OF NEXT WEEKEND AND CONTINUE IN INTO THE FOLLOWING WEEK. SO COOL OUT THERE TOMORROW MORNING, 46, 72. It turns much cooler tonight with lows dropping into the 40's, but we will not have to wait long for warmer weather to return. Lows overnight will drop into the 40's. We are in for plenty of sunshine and a light breeze Monday afternoon. High temperatures in the afternoon will climb back into the lower 70's. QUIET UNTIL LATE WEEKThe cool weather will continue into Monday night as lows drop into the 40's once again, just a few degrees warmer than Sunday night. We warm up significantly Tuesday and Wednesday as highs soar back into the lower 80's. And by Thursday, many of us may be breaking into the mid 80's.The forecast looks completely dry through AT LEAST Thursday afternoon. However, an approaching front eventually brings a return to rain chances Friday and Saturday. There is disagreement between models on exactly when the rain arrives and how long it lasts. That will be something to watch over the coming days.Also something to watch - the potential for some stronger storms. There isn't a definite signal at this point for severe weather, but it is late April and we all know what kind of weather Mother Nature can bring this time of year.We likely turn pretty chilly again for the second half of next weekend and the start of the following week.
