Two teens have been arrested after police say a fire was intentionally set inside a building at Veterans Park.On Friday night around 11 p.m., Alabaster police were called to the park because of a fire in a women's restroom near the soccer field.The Alabaster Fire Department put out the fire, but there is significant damage to the building, which has security cameras. On Monday, Alabaster detectives arrested two 14-year-olds they say are connected to the fire. Their names were not released due to their juvenile status.Both teens are charged with arson and were taken to the Shelby County Detention Center. "Alabaster is very fortunate to have several nice parks. Those who choose to damage those parks will be prosecuted," APD Chief Curtis Rigney said.The building will be closed for the foreseeable future as damage is repaired.
