Birmingham police are investigating a shooting death in the city's southwestern section Sunday.Shortly after 6:30 a.m., officers from the west precinct responded to a call of a person down at 50th Street and Park Avenue Southwest.When they arrived, they found an unresponsive male victim in a ditch on the side of the road.Birmingham Fire and Rescue crews pronounced him dead at the scene.The coroner's examination revealed that the victim had been shot.Police say that someone passing called after seeing the victim lying on the side of the road.There is no one in custody.Anyone with information about this case is asked to call BPD at 205-254-1764 or CrimeStoppers at 205-254-7777.Your neighborhood: Local coverage from WVTM 13
