Over 35,000 households in southern Oregon were without power Tuesday morning.

Pacific Power, a utility company, said the outage affected Glide, Myrtle Creek, Oakland, Roseburg, Sutherlin, Winchester, and Winston customers. There are about 45,000 households in all of Douglas County, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Crews were dispatched to investigate the outage, make repairs and work to restore services as quickly as possible to the affected areas. Power is estimated to be restored by 2:30 p.m., Pacific Power officials said.

The cause of the outage was unknown as of 9 a.m.

Over 4,000 Douglas Electric Cooperative customers west of Roseburg, including substations in Camas, Tenmile, Lookingglass, Melrose, and Umpqua, were also affected by outages Tuesday morning.
