Four days after leading Ohio State to the national championship, running back Quinshon Judkins announced Friday he is leaving for the NFL draft.

Judkins, a former star at Pike Road High School near Montgomery, rushed for 1,060 yards and 14 touchdowns this past season. He scored three times — twice rushing and once receiving — in the Buckeyes’ 34-23 victory over Notre Dame in Monday’s College Football Playoff title game in Atlanta.

Judkins announced the move via a post on his Instagram account:

The 6-foot, 218-pound Judkins spent his first two college seasons at Ole Miss, where he rushed for 2,725 yards and 31 touchdowns. He was SEC Freshman of the Year in 2022 and first-team All-SEC in both 2022 and 2023.

Judkins is rated fifth among draft-eligible running backs by ESPN’s Mel Kiper, behind Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty, North Carolina’s Omarion Hampton, Syracuse’s LeQuint Allen and Tennessee’s Dylan Sampson. The 2025 NFL draft takes place April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wisc.
