Ravens put former Alabama cornerback on injured reserve

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis will have to miss at least the next four games after the NFL team placed him on injured reserve on Saturday.

The former Alabama defensive back sustained a hamstring injury in Sunday’s 28-25 victory over the Dallas Cowboys and did not practice this week.

A former Mobile prep star at St. Paul’s Episcopal, Armour-Davis will be eligible to return to the field for Baltimore’s trip to play the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 27, if healthy. Injured-reserve rules set the minimum stay at four games, so Armour-Davis will miss at least the Ravens’ games against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night, Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 6, Washington Commanders on Oct. 13 and Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Oct. 21.

Armour-Davis started Baltimore’s season-opening 27-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 5, but he had played only one defensive snap in the previous two contests. Armour-Davis had been on the field for 54 special-teams plays in three games in 2024.

Armour-Davis is in his third NFL season after joining the Ravens as a fourth-round choice in the 2022 draft.

Another former Alabama cornerback also appeared on Saturday’s NFL transactions report. Tony Brown was elevated from the practice squad by the Browns, making him eligible to play against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

Cleveland elevated Brown for its previous game, too, and he made his 2024 debut with 22 special-teams plays in a 21-15 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday. He made two tackles and, on the opening kickoff, forced a fumble that the Browns recovered at the Giants 24-yard line.
