Restaurant R’evolution, the fine-dining establishment located at The Royal Sonesta New Orleans, will close September 4 and reopen in early October.

Located at 777 Bienville St. in the French Quarter, the restaurant will undergo renovations and reopen with enhanced food, art and ambiance, according to a news release.

Chef John Folse leads the restaurant’s culinary strategy.

“The Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry, the award-winning firm that created Restaurant R’evolution’s original design concept in 2012, will lead the redesign which will include refreshed colors, flooring, seating and upholstery throughout the dining and bar areas,” the news release reads. “The restaurant’s kitchen will undergo a full renovation, upgrading to the latest commercial equipment and creating a space that allows chefs to explore their creativity.”

Landis Construction is the general contractor for the renovation.

“A revamped menu complemented by unique touches on the table are designed to wow the diner throughout their experience,” the news release states. “New artwork featuring Louisiana artists and artifacts honoring Chef Folse’s culinary history will be on display, creating a museum feel that immerses diners in the unique food, culture and ambiance of New Orleans.”

Restaurant R’evolution offers modern, imaginative reinterpretations of classic Cajun and Creole cuisine. The menu features classics such as Death by Gumbo, crabmeat beignets, charcuterie boards, and Wagyu tomahawks but also new creations highlighting ingredients from what Chef Folse refers to as “the swamp floor pantry.”
