Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan have broken up

Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan’s “on and off” relationship of a year is off again, "People," "Entertainment Tonight," and "Us Weekly" have reported. This time though, it might be over for good. Sources spoke to the three outlets about what led the couple to split during the holiday season. They also had different viewpoints on Keoghan and Carpenter’s future.People cited a source who made it seem like the pair could revisit their romance one day. “They are both young and career-focused, so they’ve decided to take a break,” its insider said.The Us Weekly source was more certain that the relationship was finished. Its insider said, “Sabrina and Barry are broken up. They had a little bit of a break a few months ago but this break was very recent.” The source added that their friends don’t believe “they’re getting back together.”Entertainment Tonight’s insider shed some light on Carpenter’s current headspace. “Barry and Sabrina have been on and off for a while, and right now they are not together,” the source explained. “Sabrina is figuring out what she wants, and focused on her career.”⁠ The insider took a middle-ground stance on their future, saying, “There’s a chance they will get back together.”Carpenter and Keoghan were first seen having dinner together on Dec. 3, 2023. Carpenter had been opening for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, and Keoghan attended a show in Singapore. Carpenter was filmed running into his arms after one performance. In May, they posed at the Met Gala together in their first major red carpet appearance as a couple. In March, Carpenter spoke to "Cosmopolitan" about her views on dating, saying, “A lot of it, for me, has been fate. I know that’s super broad, but I don’t actively look for it. The relationships that I actually want to put my energy into have to be so interesting or invigorating because they take me away from the other things I love. So yeah, it’s fun and it’s messy.
