AT ONE POINT, IT LOOKS LIKE THE SUV WAS ON FIRE. THAT’S BEEN PUT OUT AT THIS POINT, WE DON’T KNOW IF ANYONE WAS INJURED. WE DON’T KNOW WHAT LED UP TO THIS CRASH. An SUV collided with a school bus in Birmingham.The crash happened just before 4 p.m. on 12th Street SW, in front of Hemphill Elementary School.The vehicles collided head-on, and luckily, no students were on board the school bus.The SUV caught fire after the crash, and the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service crews were able to put it out quickly.No other injuries were reported.The street was closed while fire and police were working in the area.Stay up-to-date: The latest headlines and weather from WVTM 13

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —

An SUV collided with a school bus in Birmingham.

The crash happened just before 4 p.m. on 12th Street SW, in front of Hemphill Elementary School.

The vehicles collided head-on, and luckily, no students were on board the school bus.

The SUV caught fire after the crash, and the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service crews were able to put it out quickly.

No other injuries were reported.

The street was closed while fire and police were working in the area.
