Fans of Harrison Ford’s character in the “Indiana Jones” films will know that Doctor Jones can’t stand snakes. Despite that piece of pop-culture fact, scientists have named a species of snake after the actor.The new type of slender snake, which has been dubbed Tachymenoides Harrisonfordi, was discovered in Peru last year, and scientists say they named it after Harrison Ford to honor his environmental advocacy efforts, according to Edgar Lehr and Conservation International.A single male snake, which was 16 inches long, was discovered while it was sunbathing in a swamp in the Andes Mountains. An ant and a spider have also previously been named after Harrison Ford.
