JUST A FEW. ALL RIGHT. THANKS SO MUCH. WELL, BIRMINGHAM POLICE INVESTIGATING A TRIPLE SHOOTING THAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT AND HURT TWO YOUNG CHILDREN AND A MAN. WVTM 13 LISA CRANE LIVE IN LOCAL AT THE SCENE OF THAT SHOOTING. DO WE KNOW THE CONDITION OF THE KIDS? LISA? WELL, THE GOOD NEWS IS POLICE TELL US THAT THE MAN AND ONE OF THE CHILDREN HAVE NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURIES. BUT NO WORD ON THE CONDITION OF THE OTHER LITTLE BOY. NOW, THE KIDS ARE SEVEN AND NINE YEARS OLD. THEY WERE IN AN SUV WITH THE MAN IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. ANOTHER CHILD AND A WOMAN DRIVING. THEY WERE RIGHT HERE ON THIRD AVENUE WEST LAST NIGHT WHEN SOMEONE PULLED UP NEXT TO THEIR SUV AND OPENED FIRE. THIS IS DEVASTATING BECAUSE NOW WE HAVE A CHILD WITH LIFE THREATENING AND LIFE THREATENING CONDITION. THIS IS A LOOK AT THE SCENE A SHORT TIME AFTER THE SHOOTING. POLICE SAY AT LEAST 20 SHOTS WERE FIRED AT THE SUV. YOU CAN SEE THE BULLET RIDDLED DOOR HERE. TWO BOYS, SEVEN AND NINE YEARS OLD, WERE SHOT ALONG WITH A MAN WHO WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. IT IS HEARTBREAKING TO KNOW THAT SOMEONE WILL OPEN FIRE ON A VEHICLE, UNKNOWING WHO IS IN THAT VEHICLE. CHILDREN, BABIES. VERY HEARTBREAKING. IT IS DISTURBING. THE PRESIDENT OF THE RISING WEST, PRINCETON NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION IS FED UP WITH THE SENSELESS VIOLENCE ON THIS THREE BLOCK STRETCH OF THIRD AVENUE WEST. THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE SHOOTINGS AND DEATHS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS. THAT’S SAD BECAUSE YOU GOT YOUR YOUR CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND AND YOU JUST, YOU KNOW, THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. IT’S OUTRAGEOUS. THAT’S HOW I FEEL. IT’S OUTRAGEOUS. THE ATF IS WORKING WITH POLICE ON THE CASE. IN THE MEANTIME, THE FAMILY AND THE COMMUNITY ARE ASKING FOR PRAYERS. Birmingham Police are investigating a triple shooting that happened Tuesday night that injured two young children and a man. We're told the man and one of the children should recover, but the other little boy has life-threatening injuries. The 7 and 9-year-old boys and the man were in an SUV with another child and a woman driving on 3rd Avenue West when someone pulled up next to them and opened fire. The President of Rising-West Princeton Neighborhood Association, Costella Adams-Terrell, said, “This is devastating because now we have a child with life-threatening and life-threatening condition.”Police say at least 20 shots were fired at the SUV. You could see the bullet-riddled passenger door. Sgt. Laquitta Wade with The Birmingham Police Department said, “It's heartbreaking to know that someone will open fire might be in the vehicle unknowing who is in that vehicle. Children, babies. Very heartbreaking. It is disturbing.”Adams-Terrell is fed up with the senseless violence on a three-block stretch of 3rd Avenue West. She said, “There have been multiple shootings and deaths, this has been going on for months. That's sad because you got your, your children in the car and, and you just, you know, this is outrageous. It's outrageous. That's how I feel. It's outrageous.”The ATF is working with the police on the case. In the meantime, the family and the community are asking for prayers. Adams-Terrell said, “We just pray for the families that are involved. Pray that the child's life is not that lo0se their life and not just pray that each and every, everyone will pray for one another.”Even though there have been several deadly shootings in the area over the last several months, police say at this point they believe this was an isolated incident.
