JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. —

Human remains have been identified through DNA analysis as a man who's been missing for several years.

The Jefferson County Coroner Medical Examiner's Office (JCCMEO) reported skeletal remains found in a remote wooded area off Sherry Street in Graysville in December 2022 were identified as those of Michael Dillard.

Dillard was 49 years old and was last known to be alive in November 2019, and his family reported him missing in April 2020, stated the JCCMEO.

The cause of death has not been determined.
