WELL, RYAN, SATURDAY’S GAME WAS THE LOWEST THE SCHOOL HAS SEEN SO FAR THIS SEASON AND WE WANTED TO SPEAK WITH STUDENTS, ASK THEM WHETHER OR NOT THEY ARE COMING TO THE GAME HERE AT PROTECTIVE STADIUM AND FOR SOME OF THEM, THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE. THE TEAM IS NOT WINNING AND THAT’S WHY THEY’RE NOT COMING TO THE GAMES. ALMOST HALFWAY THROUGH THE SEASON, UAB BLAZERS ARE IN A ROUGH SPOT COMING OFF A TOUGH LOSS AGAINST TULANE SATURDAY, 71 TO 20. I’LL SAY TO THE FANS LIKE YOU DESERVE MORE. CITY OF BIRMINGHAM DESERVES MORE. IF YOU’RE GOING TO BE ANGRY, PLEASE BE ANGRY AT ME. DON’T BE ANGRY AT OUR KIDS. OUR KIDS ARE GIVING US EVERYTHING THEY HAVE AND THAT’S MY JOB TO MAKE SURE SOMETHING LIKE THIS NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN. STUDENTS LIKE EMILY HUTCHINSON AREN’T HAPPY. THE BLAZERS ARE 1 IN 4. IT’S DISAPPOINTING, BUT I THINK THE COACHING REALLY MATTERS. AND IF WE HAD A COACH WHO REALLY CARED ABOUT US, THAT WOULD MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN OUR PLAYERS MOTIVATION TO PLAY AND OUR MOTIVATION TO WIN. WE NOTICED THERE WASN’T A LARGE CROWD AT SATURDAY’S GAME, SO WE ASKED THE ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT ABOUT IT. THEY SAY THERE WERE 19,724 IN ATTENDANCE. THE STADIUM HOLDS OVER 40,000. AARON MASON SAYS HE PURPOSELY DOESN’T GO TO THE GAMES BECAUSE THE BLAZERS AREN’T WINNING. I DIDN’T REALLY WATCH THEM. I WAS KIND OF LOOKING AT IT ON ESPN, BUT WE JUST GOT TO FIGHT HARD OR THEY WOULD LOOK LIKE LIKE WE’RE NOT PUTTING ENOUGH GRID OUT THERE. CAN WE? NOT WINNING NO GAMES, ESPECIALLY AGAINST TEAMS THAT WERE LOSING AGAINST KC. HAMBY, ON THE OTHER HAND, IS OPTIMISTIC. HE SUPPORTS WHAT HE CAN. HE BELIEVES THE BLAZERS WILL TURN THINGS AROUND THIS WEEKEND. EVERY TEAM HAS LIKE A HUMBLING GAME EACH SEASON, SO I FEEL LIKE THIS IS OUR HUMBLING GAME, BUT IT’S JUST, YOU KNOW, MINOR SETBACK FOR A MAJOR COMEBACKS. NOW UAB WILL PLAY ARMY ON SATURDAY MORNING AT 11 A.M. MAGDALA LOUISSAINT LIVE IN BIRMINGHAM.
