Suspect arrested after deadly shooting in Anniston

Anniston Police Department announced one man is dead and a suspect is in custody after an early morning shooting.According to police, officers responded to the shooting around 5 a.m. Saturday at a home in the 1500 block of East 11th Street.Upon arrival, they found the victim, James Delanely Johnson, unresponsive inside the home.Follow us on social: Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | YouTubeInvestigators were able to locate and arrest a suspect in the shooting. Anniston Police Department announced one man is dead and a suspect is in custody after an early morning shooting.

According to police, officers responded to the shooting around 5 a.m. Saturday at a home in the 1500 block of East 11th Street.

Upon arrival, they found the victim, James Delanely Johnson, unresponsive inside the home.

Investigators were able to locate and arrest a suspect in the shooting. The suspect was identified as Derrick Jerome Mathews.

It's believed Mathews and Johnson got into an argument which led to the shooting.
