OXFORD, Ala. —

Oxford Police said a male has critical injuries after being shot.

The victim was airlifted to UAB Hospital.

The suspect is facing multiple charges.

A suspect is in custody Thursday and police are "working multiple crime scenes" after shots were fired along a state highway and at a Race Trac in Oxford.

Police responded to Alabama State Route 21 and Interstate 20, and the suspect was taken into custody at the Race Trac on AL-21 and Grace Street. Multiple shots were fired on AL-21 and at the Race Trac, according to police.
