A vehicle crash led to a large fire at a Blount County church Sunday morning.The Blount County Sheriff's Office posted on social media that a driver was on Highway 31 near the Smoke Rise community before sunrise, when the car veered off the road and struck Rock Creek Church of Christ on Mill Creek Road.The sheriff's office said the driver was injured and taken to a hospital.The crash started a fire and the building soon became engulfed in flames, said the BCSO.A WVTM 13 News videographer arrived and saw much of the church had suffered significant fire damage.The sheriff's office said the driver is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and the Alabama State Troopers are investigating.Stay up-to-date: The latest headlines and weather from WVTM 13
