Third arrest made in murder of Birmingham man found shot to death in apartment
A third suspect has been charged in connection to the deadly shooting of a Birmingham man over the summer.Newly released court documents show that 41-year-old Charles Nance has also been charged in connection to Charlie Moore's death.Back in August, police responded to a stolen vehicle call in the housing community known as Vice Hills in North Birmingham. When they got there, an officer heard shots being fired inside an apartment. The officer confronted an armed suspect, according to police. During a confrontation, the officer shot at the suspect, who entered the passenger side of the stolen vehicle and then drove away with another suspect.Officers followed the suspects until they found the vehicle abandoned in the 4100 block of Fairmont Place.Inside the apartment development, officers found 61-year-old Charlie Herbert Moore lying shot and unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.Damien McDaniel and Hatarious Woods, both of whom were charged in connection to a deadly mass shooting outside a Birmingham event center, were later charged with capital murder in connection to Moore's death. McDaniel also faces charges in the Five Points South mass shooting.Nance reportedly provided Moore's name and address to McDaniel before the shooting. He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on a capital murder charge Monday, where he remains without bond.
