At least one high temperature record was tied in Alabama on Monday, and more records could fall this week.
The National Weather Service in Huntsville reported that Muscle Shoals hit 75 degrees on Monday afternoon, tying the record high last reached in 1962.

More records could fall in the coming days, according to forecasters.
Highs on Tuesday are again expected to reach well into the 70s in Alabama, and a few spots could get their first 80s of 2025 on Wednesday or Thursday.
Forecasters think that the above-average temperatures could hang on through the weekend.
Usually with warmer temperatures there is a threat for storms, but there’s no severe weather in the forecast for the state this week.
The weather service does think some rain will be possible, with small chances during the week and slightly higher odds on Thursday and Friday.
Rain will be more likely in north and central Alabama, and south Alabama may not get any rain.
