Troy on Friday officially added two more football players via the transfer portal.
Joining the Trojans for 2025 are defensive lineman Elijah Davis from South Carolina and running back Jamontez Woods from Division II West Florida. Woods returns to his original school after two years away, having first played at Troy from 2019-22.
Woods (6-foot, 205 pounds) signed with Troy out of Gadsden City High School, totaling 621 yards and seven touchdowns in 39 games. He rushed for 565 yards in 11 games at West Florida in 2023 and 155 yards in four games in 2024, but received a medical redshirt — and a seventh year of eligibility — after missing of the 2019 season due to injury.

Davis (6-3, 256) totaled six tackles in 12 games for the Gamecocks in 2023, but took a redshirt this past season after playing just a single play vs. Wofford in late November. The South Carolina native also spent two seasons at East Mississippi Community College, leaving him with one year of eligibility.
Troy now has 13 transfer additions since the end of the 2024 season, including one from junior college. The Trojans finished 4-8 last year, their first under head coach Gerad Parker.
