Alabama's temperatures will plunge after a few showers overnight

EXCLUSIVE LIVE RADAR TRACKING STORMS SO YOU’LL KNOW. FIRST, THIS IS WVTM 13 WEATHER. WELL, AFTER AN ICY WEEKEND, IT LOOKS LIKE MOST OF THE ICE HAS STARTED TO MELT, AT LEAST ON THE ROADWAYS, SO SHOULD BE SAFE TO TRAVEL, ESPECIALLY THE FARTHER SOUTH YOU GO. BUT WE’RE TAKING A LIVE LOOK NOW IN TUSCALOOSA. TEMPERATURES SITTING AT 49 DEGREES. THAT DEW POINT THOUGH 28. SO AT THE SURFACE IT’S VERY, VERY DRY. AND I’M NOTING THAT BECAUSE WE’RE TRACKING SOME SHOWERS IN THE WVTM 13 LIVE DOPPLER. AND AS THOSE SHOWERS COME OVER TUSCALOOSA, EVEN THOUGH WE SEE ON THE RADAR, THERE’S A GOOD CHANCE WE MAY NOT SEE ANY OF THAT ACTUALLY REACH THE GROUND BECAUSE WE’RE JUST SO DRY OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW. AND THAT WILL CONTINUE TO BE THE PROCESS OVERNIGHT. WE’VE GOT AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE THAT’S CURRENTLY ALONG THE GULF COAST TOWARDS LOUISIANA, AND WHILE IT’S NOT AIMED DIRECTLY AT ALABAMA, IS GOING TO DRIFT EASTWARD JUST SOUTH OF ALABAMA. THEREFORE, THE FARTHER SOUTH YOU ARE, THE HIGHER THE CHANCES FOR RAIN AS WE MOVE INTO LATER TONIGHT AND EARLY TOMORROW MORNING. THIS IS 10 P.M. TONIGHT, AND AS YOU CAN SEE, THE SHOWERS STARTING TO CREEP INTO SUMTER, GREEN HILL COUNTIES, DALLAS, PERRY, EVEN PARTS OF BIBB AND CHILTON COUNTY AS WE MOVE INTO 3 A.M. TOMORROW MORNING. I DO THINK MOST OF THIS, LIKE I SAID BEFORE, WON’T EVEN BE ABLE TO REACH THE GROUND SIMPLY BECAUSE OF HOW DRY WE ARE. AND THEN, IF YOU’RE SOUTH OF BIRMINGHAM, I DON’T THINK YOU’LL SEE ANYTHING. BUT AS WE MOVE INTO 7 A.M. MONDAY MORNING, ON YOUR WAY OUT THE DOOR, SOME OF THE ROADWAYS MAY BE WET, BUT AT THIS POINT MOST OF THIS RAIN IS FARTHER EAST TOWARDS TALLAPOOSA, COOSA, CLAY COUNTY, PARTS OF TALLADEGA, EVEN ALL THE WAY UP TO CALHOUN COUNTY. BUT AGAIN, WE ARE GOING TO BE MAINLY DRY NORTH OF BIRMINGHAM AND COMPLETELY DRY BY THE TIME WE REACH THE NOON HOUR, WITH SOME LINGERING CLOUD COVER. SO WHEN EVERYTHING IS ALL SAID AND DONE, I THINK ONCE AGAIN MOST OF THE RAIN WILL BE SOUTH OF BIRMINGHAM AND A GOOD ACCUMULATION IS GOING TO BE VERY LIGHT. I’M TALKING ABOUT A 10TH OF AN INCH THERE IN CLANTON, A THIRD OF AN INCH IN SELMA, A 0.2IN THERE AND DEMOPOLIS. SO JUST NOT A WHOLE LOT OF RAIN IS GOING TO MOVE IN LATER ON TONIGHT INTO TOMORROW MORNING. BUT MOVING INTO 3 P.M. MONDAY. SO TOMORROW AFTERNOON, HEADING INTO THE EVENING, TEMPERATURES WILL CLIMB TO THE 40S IN NORTH ALABAMA. AND THEN TOWARDS THE 50S IN PARTS OF SOUTH ALABAMA, FROM 50 DOWN FROM TUSCALOOSA ALL THE WAY OVER TO ALEXANDER CITY. AND THEN BY 11 P.M. MONDAY NIGHT, THIS IS ACTUALLY GOING TO BE OUR LOW FOR MONDAY. WE START OUT A LITTLE WARMER IN THE MORNING, BUT WE DO DROP EVEN FURTHER BY MONDAY NIGHT. TEMPERATURES BELOW FREEZING AND WE DROP TO THE 20S AS WE MAKE OUR WAY INTO EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. HERE’S YOUR SEVEN DAY FORECAST RECAP. SO LIKE I SAID, RAIN OVERNIGHT, A FEW SHOWERS, AND THEN WE’RE MAINLY DRY AS WE MAKE OUR WAY INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE WORKWEEK. 51 THE HIGH ON THURSDAY. AND THEN MORE SHOWERS POTENTIAL AS WE MAKE OUR WAY INTO THE START
