Very hot weather with little chance for rain this week

YEAH, THAT’S JUST A TEASE. EXCLUSIVE LIVE RADAR TRACKING STORMS SO YOU’LL KNOW FOR FIRST, THIS IS WVTM 13 WEATHER. IT’S ANOTHER HOT DAY. LOTS OF SUNSHINE ACROSS CENTRAL ALABAMA. BLUE SKIES OVERHEAD REGIONS FIELD, DOWNTOWN BIRMINGHAM, A FEW FAIRWEATHER CUMULUS CLOUDS OUT THERE AND TEMPERATURE CHECKING IN AT 93 DEGREES. WE’LL CONTINUE TO ADD TO THOSE HIGH TEMPERATURES OVER THE COMING DAYS. AND BY THIS WEEKEND, MANY OF US WILL BE IN THE UPPER 90S, 91 IN GADSDEN, ANNISTON. RIGHT NOW, 9081 CLANTON, 88. COLEMAN 91 DEGREES IN TUSCALOOSA. THE ONLY THING THAT COULD REALLY COOL US OFF IS SOME SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE. BUT YET AGAIN TODAY, NOTHING OUT THERE ON THE WVTM 13 LIVE DOPPLER. THERE WERE JUST A COUPLE OF SHOWERS THAT TRIED TO FORM EARLIER THIS AFTERNOON. ETOWAH AND CALHOUN COUNTIES. BUT THOSE QUICKLY FIZZLED. 97 TOMORROW IN HUEYTOWN LEEDS, 98, IN TUSCALOOSA, 94 IN CLANTON WILL CONTINUE THAT THEME OF VERY HOT TEMPERATURES, HIGHS IN THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 90S AND GRADUALLY THAT HUMIDITY MAKES A RETURN. AS THAT HAPPENS, HEAT INDEX VALUES WILL TOP OUT ABOVE 100. THIS IS THURSDAY AFTERNOON, NOON. SO YOU CAN JUST GET THAT IDEA OF THE INCREASING MOISTURE OR INCREASING HUMIDITY THAT WE HAVE IN THE FORECAST NEAR 104 AND HUEYTOWN 105. TUSCALOOSA, ONCE WE GET UP TO THAT MAGICAL 105 NUMBER, THAT’S WHEN WE START TO SEE THOSE HEAT ADVISORIES ISSUED AND LIKELY WE’LL START TO SEE SOME OF THOSE LATER IN THE WEEK AND INTO THE WEEKEND. VERY QUIET WEATHER FOR US IN CENTRAL ALABAMA. A FEW CLOUDS AROUND AND EVEN THEN, THOSE ARE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN. LOTS OF SUNSHINE OUT THERE THROUGHOUT OUR TUESDAY, A LOT OF DRY AIR STILL IN PLACE. THE AREA SHADED IN BLUE, THE MOISTURE DOWN TO OUR SOUTH. EVENTUALLY SOME OF THAT MOISTURE OVER FLORIDA TRIES TO RETURN, MOVE UP OUR WAY LATE IN THE WEEK AND INTO THE WEEKEND. BUT IT’S GOING TO BE HARD TO GET IT UP HERE, AT LEAST WITH THAT BIG RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE STILL LOCKED IN ON TOP OF US. SO BECAUSE OF THAT RAIN, CHANCES REMAINING, VERY SLIM OVER THE NEXT FIVE DAYS AND REALLY THAT LONG RANGE OUTLOOK OVER THE NEXT 7 TO 10 DAYS, STILL NOT LOOKING VERY PROMISING FOR ANY COOLER WEATHER OR MUCH RAIN IN THE FORECAST. HERE’S A LOOK AT OUR SEVEN DAY FORECAST WHERE WE CONTINUE WITH THE HOT WEATHER, NIGHTTIME LOWS ALSO BEGINNING TO COME UP MID 70S FOR LOWS SATURDAY MORNING, UPPER 90S FOR HIGHS, MAYBE A FEW ISOLATED AFTERNOON STORMS. THIS WEEKEND. RAIN CHANCES ONLY AROUND 20%. VE

Overnight low temperatures will fall into the lower to mid-70s under mainly clear skies. Mostly sunny conditions in place Wednesday allow temperatures to soar to the mid to upper 90s.A "Code Orange" Air Quality Alert has been issued for Jefferson and Shelby Counties for Wednesday as elevated levels of low-level ozone pollution are expected.
