Video shows brawl along Montgomery Riverfront resulting in multiple people detained

MONTGOMERY, Ala. —

Multiple people were detained following a brawl along the riverfront in Montgomery over the weekend.

The fight was caught on video, showing a group fighting with a man who looks to be in uniform working on the dock.

A witness claimed a pontoon boat was blocking the dock where a riverboat was trying to park.

As the brawl continued, a man swam in the water to help the dock worker. His family's publicist has released a statement and identified him as "Aaren."

"In the face of adversity, Aaron selflessly came to the rescue of a fellow colleague, showcasing courage beyond his years," the statement read.

The mayor of Montgomery said the police department detained several "reckless individuals for attacking a man who was doing his job," in a statement. He noted warrants have been signed.
