Tonight: Mostly clear skies will allow temperature to bottom out near freezing just after midnight before clouds increase and temperatures warm to the mid/upper 30s by sunrise as we stay dry.
Sunday: Much of the day will be dry with increasing cloudiness. Highs will be forced to rise only to around 50° but feeling much cooler than Saturday thanks to the cloud cover. Rain showers move into west-central Alabama just after sunset before spreading east into Monday morning.
Next Week: Our work week begins with some spotty light rain showers on Monday morning as the steady rain comes to an end. Rainfall totals Sunday night for most of us should be near to below a half-inch. These showers on Monday morning will quickly depart with perhaps a lingering shower over eastern Alabama during the afternoon. Otherwise, the rest of us will squeeze in some sunshine after lunch on Monday, allowing highs to reach the lower 50s.
Temperatures continue warming into midweek with highs near to just above 60° on Tuesday and Wednesday with both days being dry for the most part. A few scattered showers are possible on Wednesday evening as a cold front passes through, but most of us stay dry into next weekend. Temperatures cool down back to near seasonal values behind this front with highs in the mid/upper 50s Thursday-Friday with lows in the upper 30s.
Our next cold front is forecast to arrive on Saturday, bringing widespread rain and perhaps some storms to the region. There are no indications of severe weather at the moment with heavy rain being the greatest impact. Ahead of this front, we’ll likely warm back into the lower 60s on Saturday before rain arrives.
