A wild police chase through the streets of Birmingham ended with the arrest of a felony robbery suspect Thursday. It all began at about 1:30 p.m. when police located the Irondale man in the 1200 block of Bankhead Highway.Officers were attempting to take 30-year-old Raymond Elston Harris, Jr. into custody when they say he hit a marked Birmingham police patrol vehicle and took off.During the chase, Harris robbed a citizen and crashed into two more vehicles, according to police. The second person he hit, had minor injuries.He was taken into custody at Avenue R and 32nd Street in Ensley by the BPD's Crime Reduction Team and Special Enforcement Team. A wild police chase through the streets of Birmingham ended with the arrest of a felony robbery suspect Thursday.
It all began at about 1:30 p.m. when police located the Irondale man in the 1200 block of Bankhead Highway.
Officers were attempting to take 30-year-old Raymond Elston Harris, Jr. into custody when they say he hit a marked Birmingham police patrol vehicle and took off.
