2-year-old, two others injured in Birmingham shooting

A woman, teenager and toddler were getting medical treatment after a shooting incident in the Collegeville area of Birmingham.According to Officer Truman Fitzgerald of the Birmingham Police Department (BPD), officers were called to check a person shot in the 2900 block of 29th Avenue North just after 6 p.m.Police officers found a woman lying unresponsive in an apartment suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and was taken to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries, Fitzgerald said. Stay up-to-date: The latest headlines and weather from WVTM 13 Officers then discovered a 2-year-old girl who had been grazed by a bullet.The BPD spokesperson said the girl was taken to Children's Hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.
