ENFORCEMENT AND THE STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT. A JUVENILE NOW HOSPITALIZED IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER MONTEVALLO. POLICE SAY THEY WERE HIT BY A CAR. OFFICERS SAY THE MINOR WAS HIT JUST AFTER FIVE LAST NIGHT ON SPRING CREEK ROAD. THEY WERE TRANSPORTED TO CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL WITH LIFE THREATENING INJURIES. A child has died after a moving vehicle collided with the youngster.
The Montevallo Police Department reported officers responded to the 300 block of Spring Creek Road at 5:13 p.m. Nov. 5 and found the child with life-threatening injuries.
The police department said the victim was hurt in a pedestrian traffic accident and taken to a hospital.
The Shelby County Coroner's Office confirmed that Amber Poe, 10, died Nov. 13.
An investigation was ongoing.
