Actors from 'The Sandlot' hold fundraiser to help kids have access to sports
HE ENJOYED IT, THOUGH. IT WAS WORTH IT. ACTORS FROM THE MOVIE THE SANDLOT ARE IN LOUISVILLE THIS WEEKEND CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF THE BASEBALL CLASSIC. YEAH, THE FOUR ACTORS HELD A FUNDRAISER TODAY AT SLUGGER MUSEUM WHERE FANS GOT TO ASK QUESTIONS AND GET AUTOGRAPHS. IT’S ALL FOR THEIR PLAY FOREVER PROJECT. IT AIMS TO IMPACT 30 COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY WITH SPORTS EQUIPMENT, EDUCATION, GENDER EQUITY PROGRAMS AND RESTORATION PROJECTS. THEY WANT TO MAKE SURE ALL KIDS HAVE ACCESS TO SPORTS AS YOU LEARN HOW TO WIN, YOU LEARN HOW TO LOSE. YOU LEARN HOW TO OVERCOME OBSTACLES. YOU LEARN HOW TO NOT BE COUNTED OUT WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH. THE AS A TEAM, RIGHT? THE THINGS THAT YOU LEARN FROM BEING PART OF ORGANIZATIONS WHERE PEOPLE HAVE YOUR BACK, YOU HAVE THEIR BACK. THERE’S A LEVEL OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY. TOMORROW, THE CAST MEMBERS WILL BE AT THE BATS GAME. THEN MONDAY NIGHT THERE WILL BE A FREE SCREENING OF THE SANDLOT AT WATERFRONT PARK. GATE
