Alabama Basketball hopes to avoid back to back losses during Newton Classic
Wednesday is the C.N. Newton Classic. It's named after the late Alabama coach who led the tide in the '60s and '70s.The tide hopes to avoid back-to-back losses. They fell on the road at Purdue last week, but this is more than just a game four local nonprofits. They will be getting a $2,500 donation in honor of the late Coach Newton.Alabama Head Basketball Coach Nate Oats said they will have their hands full on defense."Illinois coach has done a really good job offensively. They're playing really modern style basketball with a lot of guards in the pick and rolls, they've got skilled guards that are playing in a lot of pick and rolls, and we're going to have to do a great job on the pick and roll," Oats said.The game will tip off at 8 p.m.
