Auburn has added another neutral-site nonconference game in Atlanta to its schedule for the fourth consecutive season.
Auburn will face Indiana in Atlanta during the 2023-24 season, according to a report by CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein. The game is set to be played in December, though an exact date has yet to be determined.

The game is expected to be part of the annual Holiday Hoopsgiving showcase played at State Farm Arena, home to the Atlanta Hawks. Auburn has participated in the event each of the last three seasons, and Bruce Pearl earlier in the week said the Tigers would be returning again this upcoming season and have a big-time opponent lined up.
“We play over here a couple of times a year,” Pearl said Tuesday evening in Atlanta before the first stop on the AMBUSH tour. “We play over in Athens, which is important, and as people that follow Auburn basketball know it’s really hard to get a ticket at Neville Arena so there’s an opportunity to get tickets in Athens and had great crowds there. And we’ve also — the last couple of years — played in Atlanta in a very special Hoopsgiving, Holiday special. We played Memphis last year and we’ve got a great opponent coming in this year. I don’t know if it’s been announced yet, but we’ve got a great opponent coming in again in a December game down at the arena the Hawks play in.”
Along with playing Memphis in last year’s Holiday Hoopsgiving, the two teams also faced off in the event during the 2020-21 season. Auburn matched up with Nebraska in Atlanta during the 2021-22 season. Auburn is 2-1 in the event, with its first loss coming last season against Penn Hardaway’s team.
The matchup with Indiana will be the second all-time meeting between the two programs, whose only other game came in the second round of the 1987 NCAA Tournament. The Hoosiers won that game, 107-90, in Indianapolis on the way to winning the national championship.
The game with Indiana in Atlanta is the latest addition to Auburn’s nonconference slate for next season. The Tigers will host Penn on Jan. 2, 2024, and will also participate in the Legends Classic in Brooklyn in November. Auburn will headline a four-team field at that event that includes St. Bonaventure, Oklahoma State and Notre Dame.
