Birmingham police investigating deadly shooting in Ensley
Police believe the man was shot by a family member.
Birmingham police are investigating a man's shooting death Saturday afternoon in Ensley.The ShotSpotter system detected shots fired just after 1 p.m. in the 4700 block of Avenue T.Police then got a call that a person had been shot at a home.When officers arrived, they found the man lying unresponsive inside the home. He was identified as Eugene Holiday, 71, of Birmingham.Birmingham Fire and Rescue crews pronounced him dead at the scene.Police believe he had been shot by a family member during a domestic situation.There are no suspects in custody.
