Birmingham police make second arrest in connection to shooting death of 22-year-old

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- A second arrest has been made in connection to the murder of Xavier Colvert, the Birmingham Police Department confirms.

Katherine Brown, 25, of Birmingham, was arrested Monday and charged with capital murder in the death of Colvert, 22, who was found shot to death in a vehicle parked in the 1500 block of 57th Street Ensley on Jan. 31.

Brown's arrest followed a warrant signed by the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office. Brown was arrested in the 5800 block of Avenue O in the Green Acres neighborhood.

On Feb. 5, police first arrested Jeremy Thomas, 18, who is also charged with capital murder in the case.

Brown is being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail.
