Body discovered near boat landing on Lake Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) -- The Tuscaloosa Police Violent Crimes Unit is conducting an investigation after a body was found alongside Lake Tuscaloosa Friday morning.

The body was discovered around 10:30 a.m. at a boat landing located on Sharpes Lake Road alongside Lake Tuscaloosa. The individual was discovered by workers who were working on the docks.

Captain Jack Kennedy said in a statement that there is no reason to believe this is a criminal matter. No other information will be released.
