Cherokee County deputy struck by moving vehicle
A Cedar Bluff man is wanted after a moving vehicle struck a deputy.Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver reported it all began when deputies responded to a domestic altercation call on County Road 585 in Cedar Bluff on the evening of April 12.Shaver said a person was inside a vehicle in the yard when deputies got there, and when they approached to talk with that person, the car accelerated and struck a deputy.The suspect abandoned the vehicle in nearby woods and ran away."We are grateful the deputy only received very minor injuries," Shaver said.Shaver said the suspect, Jeremy "Pee Wee" Crane, 39, is facing a felony assault warrant.Crane remains on the run, and if you have information about where he may be, call the sheriff's office at 256-927-9999.
