Crews have shut down a natural gas line after it was ruptured in the Trussville area Tuesday.The Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service said crews were dispatched to the Eastern Landfill on Alton Road about 4 p.m. to check reports of people smelling the odor of gas.As crews continued investigating, BFRS said Southern Gas was on scene and said there was no danger to residents and no apparent fire.Information from a Southern Natural Gas marketing firm said a third party struck their natural gas pipeline and natural gas was released at the landfill."The impacted pipeline is being isolated and shut down.
