A group of young Boston musicians and their families were treated to a series of surprises Saturday when superstar Ed Sheeran crashed their recital and then invited them all to his concert. In a series of videos shared on social media by Kiss 108, Sheeran was seen surprising the group at the Boston Music Project event. Someone handed him a microphone, and he walked into the event signing. He performed his song, "The Hills of Aberfeldy," with the children providing musical accompaniment. And he also performed "Eyes Closed." Finally, he invited them all to Gillette Stadium for his Mathematics Tour concert on Saturday night. "I've just double-checked it with my manager. If you all want tickets to tonight's show, you can all have tickets to tonight's show — you and your families," he said. Ed Sheeran has a history of similar stunts, including in 2018 when he performed for patients at Boston Children's Hospital and a recent surprise for students in a Florida school.
