Fatality reported in crash involving school bus in Blount County

UPDATE: Sheriff Mark Moon sent an update, saying there were about 10 special needs children on the school bus when the accident happened.None of the children were injured.--------------------------------------------------------One person was killed in a crash with a school bus in Blount County.The Alabama State Troopers reported a crash at about 3 p.m. on Highway 160 near Wild Bird Way in the Hayden area.All lanes were blocked.Blount County Sheriff Mark Moon said a vehicle and a school bus collided.No students were on the bus at the time, said Sheriff Moon.We're told the driver of the private vehicle died at the scene.Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
