Gov. Ivey makes announcement about Alabama's Northern Beltline interstate

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey and Congressman Palmer joined local officials Wednesday in Gardendale announcing new work on the Birmingham Northern Beltline.The governor announced that construction will begin soon on a 10-mile section of the beltline, connecting Highway 31 in Gardendale to Highway 75 in the Pinson area.Ivey said, "This will be an absolute game changer for Jefferson County."Construction began years ago, then was halted, on the 52 mile stretch from Interstate 59 near Argo to I-20/59 south of Birmingham.
