AS WE MOVE INTO NOT ONLY TODAY, BUT TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY, MAINLY FOR THE DANGEROUSLY COLD TEMPERATURES AND WIND CHILLS THAT WE ARE EXPECTING OVER THE NEXT THREE DAYS. SINGLE DIGIT WIND CHILLS THIS MORNING AND IT’S GOING TO REMAIN VERY COLD THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK. AND WE ALSO HAVE THE CHANCE FOR SOME SNOW, ESPECIALLY ACROSS SOUTH ALABAMA, BUT COULD IMPACT SOME OF OUR SOUTHERN COUNTIES. THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE A WIDESPREAD EVENT LIKE WE HAD ABOUT A WEEK OR A LITTLE OVER A WEEK OR SO AGO, WHERE EVERYBODY DOES SEE SOME SNOW. IT LOOKS TO BE MAINLY CONFINED TO THOSE SOUTHERN COUNTIES. I DO WANT TO SHOW YOU WE DO HAVE SOME COLD WEATHER ADVISORIES IN PLACE HERE THIS MORNING THROUGH 11 A.M. FOR A LOT OF THESE COUNTIES. AS YOU GO FURTHER NORTH, THOUGH, WE HAVE AN EXTREME COLD WARNING FOR JEFFERSON, SHELBY COUNTIES, ETOWAH, CALHOUN COUNTIES. AND THAT IS BECAUSE WIND CHILL VALUES COULD GET CLOSE TO ZERO DEGREES. AS YOU GO FURTHER SOUTH, LIKELY CLOSE TO THE SINGLE DIGITS AND LOW TEENS. HERE’S A LOOK AT WHERE WE ARE CURRENTLY FORT PAYNE THE WIND CHILL CURRENTLY AT ZERO ONE DEGREES. WHAT IT FEELS LIKE IN CULLMAN, HALEYVILLE AT 210 DEGREES IS THE CURRENT WIND CHILL IN THE METRO AREA. 12 IN TUSCALOOSA, 13 IN ALABASTER SO DANGEROUSLY COLD STUFF. IF YOU HAVE TO BE OUTDOORS WITH IT FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME. LOTS AND LOTS OF LAYERS. GOT TO DRESS FOR THIS. ALL RIGHT, HERE’S KIND OF A LOOK AT OUR PLANNER THROUGH AT LEAST THE EARLY AFTERNOON. SO OUR TEMPERATURES THIS MORNING IN THE TEENS WE’RE GOING TO STAY BELOW FREEZING ALL DAY TODAY. AND AS A MATTER OF FACT, WILL LIKELY STAY BELOW FREEZING UNTIL WE GET INTO WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. AND THEN YOU CAN SEE OUR FEELS-LIKE OR THE WIND CHILL TEMPERATURE. EVEN AT 10:00 THIS MORNING, 12 DEGREES 17 DEGREES AT NOON, 19 AT 1:00 THIS AFTERNOON. ALL RIGHT. WE’VE GOT WINTER STORM WARNINGS IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF SOUTH ALABAMA IN THE PINK COLOR, YOU CAN SEE WINTER STORM WATCHES IN EFFECT FOR SOME OF OUR SOUTHERN COUNTIES. SO THIS LOOKS TO BE MAINLY A SOUTH ALABAMA EVENT. THIS COULD BE UPGRADED TO AN ADVISORY A LITTLE LATER ON TODAY. WE’LL HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE. BUT BRYLEE BROWN IS GOING TO KIND OF WALK US THROUGH THE TIMING OF THE SNOW. STEPH I DO THINK THAT AS WE’VE BEEN SEEING A LOT OF THE GLOBAL MODELS INDICATING THE HEAVIER SNOW DOWN TO THE SOUTH, BUT SOME OF THEM STILL BRING IT UP TO 5920 ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON. SO THIS STARTS TO SPREAD IN BY MID-MORNING, INCREASING IN COVERAGE THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND THEN LASTING THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING. AGAIN. NOTICE IT LOOKS LIKE MOST OF IT IS TO OUR SOUTH, EVEN FOR AREAS SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 85. THAT BEING SAID, WE ARE STILL NOT GOING TO COMPLETELY RULE OUT THE CHANCE THAT WE SEE SOME FLURRIES AND EVEN SOME LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS ACROSS I-20. IT JUST REALLY DEPENDS ON THE NORTHERN EXTENT OF THAT EDGE OF PRECIPITATION. WOULDN’T EXPECT A LOT OF SNOWFALL AROUND HERE, THOUGH. THAT IS NOT REALLY IN THE CARDS FOR US. THIS TIME. LOOKING AT 1 TO 3IN FOR AREAS DOWN TO THE SOUTH, AND WE’RE LOOKING AT THOMASVILLE, CAMDEN, GREENVILLE AND THEN DOWN TO THE SOUTH, CLOSER TO INTERSTATE 85 AND AREAS ALONG THE COAST ANDALUSIA, MOBILE, MONROEVILLE MAYBE 2 TO 3IN DOWN THAT WAY. BUT I THINK ONCE YOU GET REALLY ALONG I-20, WE’RE LOOKING AT A DUSTING. IF ANYTHING AT ALL, THAT COULD STILL CAUSE SOME TRAVEL IMPACTS, BUT OUR BIGGEST CONCERN WILL BE FOR BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES, ESPECIALLY IN SPOTS LIKE CLANTON DOWN THROUGH CENTERVILLE, ALEX CITY I THINK THAT’S WHERE THE GREATEST IMPACT WOULD BE HEADING INTO TUESDAY NIGHT AND THEN EVEN INTO WEDNESDAY. IF SOME OF THIS REFREEZES. BUT AGAIN, I THINK THE MOST EXTREME WHEN IT COMES TO TRAVEL IMPACTS AND THAT KIND OF THING IS GOING TO BE CLOSER TO INTERSTATE 85 DOWN TO MONTGOMERY COUNTY, LOWNDES COUNTY, DALLAS COUNTY AND AREAS FURTHER TO THE SOUTH. WE ARE GOING TO REMAIN VERY COLD AS STEPH HAS BEEN SHOWING YOU. WE’VE GOT IMPACT DAYS THROUGH WEDNESDAY. AND AGAIN, IF ANYTHING DOES STICK AND STAYS ON THE GROUND THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT, THAT COULD CAUSE SOME PROBLEMS. EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. IT IS VERY COLD. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE DRESSING W
