Homeowner allegedly shoots suspected burglar near Pinson

ON THE LOOKOUT. JEFFERSON COUNTY DEPUTIES SAY A WOULD BE BURGLAR WAS SHOT BY A HOMEOWNER TONIGHT. THE SHOOTING TOOK PLACE ON DEAN ROAD JUST NORTH OF PINSON. THE SUSPECT WAS SENT TO THE HOSPITAL WITH MINOR INJURIES.

At least one person was getting medical attention, after a shooting incident in northeast Jefferson County.According to a sheriff's office spokesperson, deputies were called to Dean Road near Highway 79, where they soon learned a homeowner possibly shot a person believed to be burglarizing the home.The shooting victim was taken to UAB Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) spokesperson.There's no word if anyone else was injured.The investigation is ongoing.
