Juveniles flip and crash vehicle, ending police chase through 3 cities

VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. —

One juvenile went to the hospital, and three others checked out at the scene of a rollover crash after a police chase early Monday morning.

It started when police saw a vehicle driving recklessly before 2 a.m. on Highway 31 near Kentucky Avenue in Vestavia Hills.

Police Lt. Michael Keller said the driver refused to stop for officers and kept going into Homewood.

The driver then crashed the vehicle, rolling it several times on Highland Avenue in Birmingham.

One of the juveniles had minor injuries and went to the Children’s of Alabama Hospital for treatment.

The ages of the juveniles have not been released.

All four juveniles are facing charges. They are in their parents' custody until formal petitions are filed through the juvenile court system.
