While Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai supported the 47th president during the 2025 Inauguration Day festivities, she took her social media followers along for the ride.

Donald Trump’s Granddaughter Kai Shares Glimpse Into Family’s Private World During Inauguration

Kai Trump is taking followers behind the scenes at her grandfather Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration.

The 17-year-old, who is daughter to Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa Trump, shared a day in her life seeing her grandfather sworn in as president among the many inauguration events in Washington D.C.

In the video posted to YouTube Jan. 20, Kai showed all the behind-the-scenes of her and her two friends getting ready for Trump’s rally in Arlington Jan. 19. And at the event, she shared rare footage from backstage along with a clip of her own speech.

“Thank you all for the support the past decade,” Kai said onstage, “we’re looking forward to the next few years and God bless America.”

After the rally, Kai showed a brief glimpse of her interaction with SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, shaking his hand before going back to her hotel room to get ready for the that night’s candlelight dinner. For the event, she wore a sparkly blue Sherri Hill ball gown and, as she put it, “Kai’s $200 heels that everyone like to talk about.”

And along with showing her support for her grandpa during the inauguration events, Kai has been proudly celebrating the 47th president’s victory since his election win.

“For America and I think for our family, I think it’s just so important that he won,” she said in a Jan. 14 YouTube video. “I think these next four years are going to be the best four years America has had in a very long time.”

“I’m so happy for him on the inside,” she continued. “I’m so happy that our family gets to do this again.”

After all, Kai—who is the oldest of Trump’s 10 grandkids—sees the 78-year-old as just a “normal grandpa,” though she added that people “don’t often see” his grandfatherly side.

"He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren't looking," she said onstage during the Republican National Convention in July. "He always wants to know how we're doing in school. When I made the high honor roll, he printed it out to show his friends how proud he was of me."

"He calls me during the middle of the school day to ask how my golf game is going and tells me all about his,” she added, “but then, I have to remind him that I'm in school and I have to call him back later.

At the end of the day, Kai sees Trump as a huge inspiration.

"He always encourages me to push myself to be the most successful person I can be," she explained. "Obviously, he sets the bar pretty high, but who knows, maybe one day I'll catch him."
