Kanye West Details Helping Daughter North West With Creating Her Debut Album
Kanye West is working harder, better, faster, stronger—all thanks to North West.
The “Jesus Walks” rapper shared that he’s found a new creative spark thanks to his 11-year-old daughter, whom he shares with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, in a post on social media teasing her debut album as well as his own upcoming project, Bully.
“This little girl made me love music again,” the 47-year-old wrote on Instagram Jan. 21 alongside a black and white photo of his firstborn. “She asked me to make beats for her I got back on the ASR Chopped up beats for her album and chopped every beats with my bare hand for BULLY.”
Kanye—who also shares kids Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5, with the Kardashiansstar—posted behind-the-scenes videos of his collaborations with North as well including a clip of the budding musician listening to her work, succinctly captioning the post, “Training.”
North previously shared her plans to follow in her dad’s footsteps last March when she announced she was working on music of her own, with a nod to the Grammy winner’s critically-acclaimed debut album, The College Dropout.

“I've been working on an album,” she revealed at a listening party for Kanye’s Vultures 2 LP, according to Forbes. "And it's called Elementary School Dropout.”
Days later, the youngster discussed the project in a rare on-camera interview, confidently telling 13-year-old reporter Jazlyn "Jazzy" Guerra, “It's gonna be great.”
However, North—who also forayed into the world of musical theatre with an onstage role in The Lion King in May—was less direct regarding when the album would be released, offering a simple, “I don't know.”
She was equally coy about whether the release would feature any collaborations with her father, saying “Maybe, we don’t know yet!”
