IT’S A GOOD DAY. HAVE A GREAT DAY. ALL RIGHT. SHOUT OUT TO AUBURN WINNING IN GYMNASTICS. AND OF COURSE NOW BASKETBALL. AND THEN BRUCE PEARL’S RECOGNITION. HOPEFULLY HE’LL GET THAT COACH OF THE YEAR. MARCH MADNESS IS JUST AHEAD. IT IS. I’M EXCITED ABOUT IT. I WANT IT TO FEEL LIKE MARCH. I WANT IT TO FEEL LIKE SPRING ALREADY. BRYLEE I KNOW, I KNOW, I’M JUST ITCHING TO GO BUY SOME PLANTS, BUT EVERY TIME I GET IN MY MIND, I TALK MYSELF OUT OF IT. AND I’M GLAD I DO. LOOK AT THESE NUMBERS. THIS MORNING WE STARTED ALL OF US BELOW FREEZING BIRMINGHAM BARELY ABOVE THE THRESHOLD. NOW AT 3425 AND ONEONTA GADSDEN AT 26, JUST ALL ACROSS THE BOARD. IT’S FAR FROM COMFORTABLE. THIS MORNING WE’VE HAD SOME MID-LEVEL CLOUDS SPREAD IN FROM THE WEST. THIS IS THE SATELLITE. OVER THE PAST HOUR, THE VISIBLE SATELLITE. AND SO YOU CAN SEE THOSE SPANNING ACROSS CENTRAL ALABAMA. LITTLE BIT OF PRECIP OFF TO THE WEST, BUT WE’RE NOT EXPECTING ANYTHING LIKE THAT TODAY. AND YOU CAN SEE THAT IT IS A FREEZING PRECIPITATION. IF YOU LOOK FURTHER DOWN TO THE SOUTH YOU CAN SEE ALL THIS MOISTURE STREAMING IN. AND THERE’S ACTUALLY A DISTURBANCE KIND OF HUGGING THE COAST OF TEXAS. THIS IS SLOWLY GOING TO MOVE ALONG THE NORTHERN GULF COAST AND THEN ACTUALLY SPREAD A LITTLE BIT OF RAIN OVER THE SOUTHERN HALF OF ALABAMA HEADING INTO TOMORROW EVENING. CLOUDS WILL INCREASE TOMORROW AFTERNOON FROM THE SOUTH, AND WE MAY GET A LITTLE BIT OF RAIN TO SPREAD IN AS EARLY AS TOMORROW AFTERNOON, BUT THIS IS MAINLY GOING TO BE CONFINED TO AREAS SOUTH OF I-20. WE’RE GETTING IN SOME NEW DATA FROM OUR HIGH RES GUIDANCE HERE. AND SO SOME OF THIS MAY BEGIN TO SPREAD FURTHER NORTH OVER TUSCALOOSA AND BIBB COUNTY. BUT AGAIN, I THINK THIS IS MAINLY GOING TO BE OVER SOUTH ALABAMA THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT. MAYBE CLEAR UP PELHAM GETTING A LITTLE BIT OF LIGHT RAIN LATE TOMORROW NIGHT, BUT YOU WILL HARDLY NOTICE IT UNLESS YOU’RE STEPPING OUTSIDE. HERE YOU CAN SEE THE RAIN CHANCES AGAIN, MAINLY CONFINED TO AREAS SOUTH OF I-20. IT’S REALLY NOT GOING TO BE A BIG DEAL THIS AFTERNOON. TEMPERATURES CLIMB INTO THE LOW 50S FOR BIRMINGHAM TUSCALOOSA. THERE WILL BE SOME COOLER SPOTS TO THE NORTH, COLEMAN LIKELY SETTLING IN THE UPPER 40S. BUT THEN NEXT WEEK WE’VE GOT A WARMING TREND ON THE WAY, AND IT TAKES A LITTLE WHILE FOR THAT ARCTIC AIR TO FADE, BUT WE’VE GOT A HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM THAT WILL MOVE EAST THROUGH MIDWEEK. AND SO WITH THE WAY THE FLOW PATTERN IS, WE’RE GOING TO GET MORE OF A WESTERLY WIND. WE CALL THAT ZONAL FLOW SOUTHWESTERLY AT TIMES AND THAT WILL HELP WARM US UP. IT ACTUALLY COMES WITH A DRY FORECAST TOO, WHICH IS NOT ALWAYS THE CASE, ESPECIALLY THIS TIME OF YEAR. AND AS WE HEAD INTO THE SPRING. SO THAT WILL BE SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO TOMORROW MORNING THOUGH, WE’RE BACK DOWN BELOW FREEZING IN THE UPPER 20S HERE IN BIRMINGHAM, SOME MID 20S TO THE NORTH, AND THEN WE GRADUALLY WARM UP EACH DAY. NEXT WEEK. 63 IS THE HIGH ON MONDAY. AND THEN BY TUESDAY, MANY OF US ARE TOUCHING THE 70. THAT WILL BE BIRMINGHAM TUSCALOOSA DOWN TO BRENT CLANTON ALEX CITY. SOME SPOTS COMING SHY OF THAT UP TO
