Less than 24 hours after Tuesday’s thrilling 10-4 single-elimination first-round victory against No. 12 seed Missouri, Auburn baseball is back at the Hoover Met for a 9:40 pm CT game against No. 4 seed in the double-elimination portion of the tournament.
Auburn and Vanderbilt didn’t play in the regular season. The Tigers last played the Commodores during an April 2022 three-game series. Auburn took two of three against Vanderbilt last season at Plainsman Park.
If the Tigers win, they’ll match up against No.1 Florida Thursday night in the winner’s bracket. A loss sends Auburn to the losers’ bracket in an elimination game Thursday afternoon against No. 9 Alabama. Florida advanced with a three-run walk-off home run against Alabama in extra innings.
