BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —

A man was sentenced to prison after a crash killed two children in Hoover in 2020.

Court records show Christopher Anagnos of Columbiana entered a guilty plea Oct. 28 to a reduced charge from reckless murder to reckless manslaughter.

The court sentenced Anagnos to 25 years in prison.

Investigators said Anagnos was sending a text on a phone, when the large truck he was driving slammed into the rear of a car.

A mother and three children were inside that car.

Eight-year-old Serris Prude and eleven-year-old Emrhye Prude died in that crash.
